Subject Description

Building and Construction focuses on the skills and knowledge associated with the practical outcomes in a technology workshop. Set projects are designed to develop hand tool use, develop confidence with power tools and promote safe work practices using wood based materials. This course is for students who enjoy the making, rather than the designing of ideas. Skills and knowledge learnt include:
- hand tool use
- safe power tool and machinery use
- material composition and selection
- basic carpentry techniques and processes
