Level 1 Te Reo Māori

This course builds and develops the skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing and presenting in Te Reo within a familiar context. A range of topics will permit students to communicate about their own world.
Learning will be assessed through your choice of four assessments - ākonga can choose four standards, from three different internal portfolios (whakarongo, kōrero, tuhituhi) and two external exams (panui, tuhituhi) to suit their strengths. There may also be some practical unit standards on offer (whakapapa, preparing kai for manuhiri), which students may choose to complete in addition to their language standards.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
Total Credits Available: 30 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 12 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 18 credits.
