Level 2 Chemistry

This course is for those students who want to build on their interest and knowledge gained from the chemistry component in the 1SCI or 1SCO courses. It focuses on the structure and bonding within substances, energy changes in reactions, the chemistry of organic substances, chemical reactivity and also develops skills in identifying reduction and oxidation reactions. This course provides a foundation for further study at tertiary level in fields such as Health Science, Engineering and Biochemistry.
Recommended Prior Learning
12 credits from 1SCI/1SCO including a Merit grade in sci1.5 (Acids and Bases). Competency in algebra is also desirable (could be evidenced from sci1.1 - Mechanics)
