Subject Description

This class is for English Language Learners who are learning at Stage 2-3 of the English Language Learning Progressions. This course will help students communicate effectively to prepare them for their future pathways, whether this is further study and/or employment. The course focuses on the elements of good writing, including paragraph structure, sentence types and the logical linking of ideas. At the same time the course helps students develop reading, speaking and listening skills.
While this is not a UE approved subject, students can gain 15 credits from three standards that contribute to an NCEA Level 3 Certificate.
Recommended Prior Learning
Most students in this class will have done 2ELP in the previous year.
