Subject Description

This course offers the opportunity to develop a range of life and work skills that will be useful
while at school and as you transition into further study or work.
1. Development of interpersonal skills, and the skills needed to work successfully as a team.
2. Financial literacy; purchasing a house and comparing goods and services.
3. Service to the local community.

Subject Overview

Term 1
The Global Workplace

In Term One we focus on cultural responsiveness and working effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. This enables us to work across the globe, have solid professional relationships in our workplace and work effectively interpersonally.

Term 2
Financial Capabilities, Team Work Skills.

In Term 2 we focus on comparing products and making wise financial decisions.
We also look at our skills in working within and team, and in soft skills that enhance performance in a workplace.

Term 3
Service

In term 3 we do a service project within the local community and look at ways we can give back to those around us.

Term 4
Service

Term 4 gives us a chance to wrap up the theme work from the previous 3 terms and to participate in a service project.
