Students in Year 10 Materials Technology gain confidence to use a selection of machinery and tools in the construction of two workshop projects. Both projects require students to design, test and fabricate an aspect of their outcome. The extent of customisation of student projects is only restricted by the student's imagination and inquiry process as they develop and refine their concept ideas.
Because this course is preparation for vocational and academic options at senior level the course will balance the literacy requirements of a design focused course with the necessary skills knowledge to become competent uses of workshop equipment and materials. Content covered includes:
