Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs L. Teague-Schellekens

This course runs for a semester. It follows the design and technology approach and encourages creativity and imagination, a sense of achievement and personal satisfaction. You will work from design briefs that you have developed, to design and make articles/garments of your own choice. In the process, you will learn and develop skills to enable you to use a variety of materials in your design, and to include cultural embellishments to your fabric by printing, dyeing, screen printing and more.

Pathway

Level 1 Textiles Technology

This course leads on to Level 2 then Level 3 Textiles. It also includes aspects of the technology process covered in Hard Materials

Cost $20.00 covers sewing kit equipment and single jersey knit for pajamas which students get to take home
