Level 1 Science Onwards

1SCO
Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr M. Seddon

This course has been designed with flexibility in Standards and an easier workload than 1SCI. It does allow for progression though to some senior Science courses depending on which standards are selected. If you are intending on entering at least two of L2 Physics, Chemistry or Biology then you should enter 1SCI. The assessment choices are dependent on experiences and successes throughout the year but could cover the content of genetics, mechanics, acids and bases. Students will attempt either 1 or 2 Externals and 3 or 2 Internals for a total of 16 credits. Please check with your Science teacher about whether this course is suitable for you.

Pathway

Level 2 Biology, Level 2 Chemistry, Level 2 Electronics, Level 2 Physics, Level 2 Science and Sustainability

Recommended Prior Learning

Students intending to complete this course should be working at level 5 of the Science Curriculum by the end of Year 10.
