Theatrical Performance

THP
Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr C. Grubb.

This course focuses purely on theatrical performance skills. Students have the opportunity to explore a wider range of theatrical styles than they would in the NCEA Drama courses.

This course is designed to have the students lead a rehearsal and performance process at least once during the semester. The goal is to do some small scenes as an actor or as a director with a performance date near the end of term 1. In term 2 the focus will be on rehearsing a one act play for the Theatre Federation One Act Play Festival. The performance dates for the local part of the competition are the end of July or early August. Regionals are about 2 weeks later and the Nationals another 2 weeks after that.
