Level 2 Economics
Subject Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms K. Browning
Ever imagined yourself in business? Going global? Investing, trading in currencies, making millions? Then 2 Economics is the course for you! We look at the what, why, and how of major economic issues facing New Zealand: inflation, unemployment, trade, growth, government policies, and how they affect us all. By the end of this course you’ll even understand what our political parties are talking about, and see it in action when (fingers crossed for no co-vid interruptions) we visit Wellington. Better yet, you’ll be able to make informed decisions about your own political views. All that in the wake of an election year – perfect!
Update: unfortunately we are unable to do the Wellington field trip this year, due to ongoing co-vid issues.
Approximate Costs and Equipment/Stationery
Optional field trip to Wellington - approx $350-$400.
Recommended Prior Learning
Literacy and Numeracy NCEA Level 1 are required - or approval must be given by Ms Browning. Please consult with her. Students who have taken Level 1 Economics will be at a significant advantage.
