Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr J. Hammond

The students will explore a range of health situations specific to adolescents in New Zealand. They will explore attitudes and values of the health issues in relation to hauora/well-being through critical thinking. Health promotion strategies to address determinants of health will be developed at a personal, interpersonal and societal scale and the relationship between these will be explored.

Recommended Prior Learning

12 credits from 1HPE. 1PEX, 1PED excluding Performance Standards.

1HPE - students need to pass at least one of the Health achievement standards.

Or by negotiation with Mr Hammond/Mrs Rowlands.
