Childcare

CHC
Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Miss A. Cording

Recommended Prior Learning

A real interest in working with young children.

This elective is designed to give students an introduction into the world of Childcare.

In this course we will look at what it takes to successfully work with children from 0-7 years and the factors that go into Best Practice Childcare.

We will aim to work alongside community groups like Plunket, and also have practical, hands on experiences with children from local preschools and primary schools.

Students who are looking at Primary, Early Childhood or Secondary teaching may wish to take this course to see if they enjoy working with our youngest Kahui Ako Learners.
