CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

All students are able to make an appointment for a career interview at any time.

  • The department aims to “touch base” with each student each year to assist their pathway planning.
  • All students have access to a well-stocked career resource room including access to on-line career development. A staff member is available to help students each lunch time.
  • Any student in the senior school may request a work experience placement.
  • They are also welcome to attend information sessions at school that are run by Tertiary Institutions.
  • A range of needs-based STAR courses are available to provide hands-on experience and assist with career decision making.
  • There is an opportunity for Year 12 and 13 students to dual enroll study at a tertiary provider (STP).
  • There is an opportunity for students to select Gateway, which is a vocational course, as one of their subjects in either Year 12 or 13.
  • A job search programme is available to Year 12 and 13 students who are in transition from school.
