Senior Course Selection

WELCOME TO SUBJECT CHOICE FOR 2024

Subject choice is an important process in your school year. You need to consider a number of factors when choosing your subjects for next year. Think carefully about your learning and talk with as many people as you can about the variety of subjects available to you.

This site has information to help you make informed choices. You will find:

• General points about course selection and career planning.
• Details about each subject from NCEA Level 1- 3 and Senior Electives.
• Pathways to plan your subject choice and progression throughout your years at school.

Subject details include: 

• A name and code, e.g. English 1ENG. This is English at Level 1. The code is linked to the level of the subject. Year 11 students generally study at Level 1 so will have a 1.
• Entry requirements, which show the prior learning or achievement you need to study the subject.
• An indication of the possible costs associated with the course.
• If it is UE accredited and any associated UE Literacy Reading/Writing or both credits.
• A contact person who is able to answer your questions about the subject.
